Flake Flooring Systems in texas

The ultimate combination of rugged durability and premium aesthetics. Multi-layered, slip-resistant flake coatings designed for high-traffic garages and commercial spaces across Texas.

The Anatomy of a Flake Floor.

A flake epoxy floor is not just paint with speckles mixed in. It is a highly engineered, multi-layer coating system. The process involves applying a specialized epoxy or polyurea base coat directly to ground concrete. While that base coat is still wet, we broadcast decorative vinyl chips (flakes) over the entire surface until the concrete is completely hidden—a technique called 'full broadcast to rejection'.

Once cured, the excess flakes are scraped away, leaving a densely packed, textured layer of vinyl chips. We then lock this layer in by flooding the floor with a thick, 100% UV-stable polyaspartic clear coat.

This system adds significant mil-thickness to your floor, providing unparalleled impact resistance. The overlapping chips act as thousands of tiny shock absorbers, protecting your concrete from dropped tools, heavy vehicle jacks, and structural stress.

Why Choose Flake?

The most popular flooring system in Texas for a reason.

Incredible Dirt Camouflage
Solid colored epoxy shows every footprint, speck of dust, and tire mark. The multi-colored, chaotic pattern of a flake blend effortlessly hides dirt and debris between cleanings.
Built-In Anti-Slip
The overlapping vinyl chips create a highly functional 'orange peel' texture under the topcoat. This provides crucial traction and prevents slip-and-fall accidents when the floor is wet.
Massive Impact Resistance
A full broadcast flake system is significantly thicker than a standard epoxy roll-on coat. It creates a robust armor that absorbs impacts from dropped tools and heavy equipment.
Endless Color Options
Available in dozens of color blends and chip sizes. Whether you want a subtle, sophisticated grayscale or a bold, high-contrast mix, we can customize the exact look you want.

Flake Installation Methodology

Our strict process guarantees the flakes will never peel or delaminate.

01

Mechanical Profiling

We use heavy planetary diamond grinders to remove the top layer of weak concrete and old stains. This opens the concrete pores so the base coat can wick deeply into the slab.

02

Base Coat Application

We squeegee and back-roll a commercial-grade, moisture-mitigating epoxy or polyurea base coat across the entire floor, ensuring a perfectly even thickness.

03

Full Broadcast to Rejection

While the base is wet, we literally throw pounds of vinyl flakes into the air, allowing them to rain down evenly until the floor is completely blanketed and no base coat is visible.

04

Scrape & Polyaspartic Seal

Once cured, we use sharp metal scrapers in multiple directions to knock down vertical flakes and create an even texture. We then vacuum the floor perfectly clean and apply the clear polyaspartic topcoat.

Flake Flooring FAQ

Everything you need to know about our broadcast systems.

Do the flakes eventually wear off or peel?
No. The flakes are permanently embedded into the base coat resin, and then completely entombed beneath a heavy-duty, high-build polyaspartic clear coat. They are physically protected from wear and tear.
What is the difference between partial and full broadcast?
Partial broadcast ('sprinkling' flakes) leaves large areas of the base coat exposed, which looks cheap and fails to provide impact resistance or slip resistance. We exclusively perform 'full broadcast to rejection' for maximum durability and aesthetic quality.
Can I choose the size of the flakes?
Yes! We offer 1/4 inch flakes (the industry standard for a balanced, premium look) as well as 1/16 inch micro-flakes and 1-inch macro-flakes, depending on the specific aesthetic you desire.
How long does a flake installation take?
For standard residential garages and small commercial spaces in Texas, we typically complete the entire 4-step process in just 1 to 2 days, thanks to our fast-curing polyaspartic resins.
